Margaret Burgess MSP visited Changeworks and the South East advice centre as part of the Scottish Government’s announcement of £60 million allocation to local authorities for Home Energy Efficiency Programme for Scotland Area Based Schemes next year.

On Wednesday, 10 December, £48 Million was allocated on the basis of need, while councils can bid for a share of a further £12 Million. 

The Minister met Changeworks Chief Executive Teresa Bray, Caroline Archibold, Home Energy Scotland South East Operations Manager, Lisa Bygate, the new Advice Team Manager and members of the advice team, and listened to a customer call. 

Teresa Bray said: “Our energy advisors offer householders the best support they need to make their homes warmer and cheaper to live in. Over a twelve month period Home Energy Scotland advisors helped 91,000 unique householders, achieving 96% customer satisfaction.” 

Home Energy Scotland provides free, impartial advice and operates a freephone helpline funded by the Scottish Government and managed by the Energy Saving Trust. Changeworks has been running the advice centres South East Scotland and the Highlands and Islands on behalf of the Energy Saving Trust since 2008.
