The event, taking place on Tuesday 21 September, will explore practical solutions to improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions in the social housing sector. Taking place in the lead up to the United Nations’ Climate Change Conference (COP26), SFHA’s event provides an opportunity for the housing sector and energy and sustainability experts to come together to discuss key challenges.

The conference is part of Changeworks and Warmworks' partnership with the SFHA announced earlier this year to provide SFHA members with increased expertise and support on improving energy efficiency and tackling fuel poverty.

The sponsors will join other expert speakers in responding to the key challenges faced by the sector as part of the transition to a ‘net-zero nation’ and offer insight into how these can be addressed in a fair and just way.

Teresa Bray, Changeworks’ Chief Executive, Changeworks said: "We're delighted to be continuing our partnership with SFHA by sponsoring the Energy Conference. From our work with housing associations across Scotland, we know the unique pressures and demands they are facing – and we're ready to help them do their bit to tackle the climate emergency.

"Changeworks works with housing associations to create warmer homes and more secure tenants. We can support you to access funding to make improvements, manage installations, and engage tenants in the process. We look forward to talking to members at the conference about all the ways we can help.”

Changeworks is Scotland’s leading environmental charity, delivering positive solutions for low carbon living. It works with organisations to improve energy efficiency, reduce fuel poverty, prevent waste, and inspire low carbon behaviours.

Warmworks is a joint venture partnership between Energy Saving Trust, Changeworks and Everwarm which is committed to promoting affordable warmth and increasing energy efficiency in homes across the country.

SPA provides partners – such as councils, housing associations, universities and emergency services – with access to innovative procurement solutions, which aim to drive social value by streamlining construction, refurbishment and maintenance contracts.
