Changeworks has made a number of key additions to its leadership team and Board, increasing the breadth and depth of knowledge and skills available to the organisation.

Laura Webb (pictured) has joined the organisation as Fuel Poverty and Low Carbon Operations Director, heading up Changeworks’ advice services that work directly with householders across Scotland. As well as leading the advice services as they work to reduce fuel poverty and increase low carbon living, Laura will identify and develop opportunities for Changeworks to play a greater role in Scotland’s journey to net zero.

Laura brings a wealth of experience with her, including extensive work in the utilities industry  at RWE npower, United Utilities and Thames Water and as an experienced operations and change leader.

Changeworks has also added two new Board members, Lindsay Scott and Abi Gardner. Lindsay is an investment manager with a background in the healthcare industry, while Abi works directly in the environmental sector with a background in ecological and environmental science.

Teresa Bray, Changeworks Chief Executive, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Laura, Lindsay and Abi to our team here at Changeworks. Laura will be an excellent leader for the organisation, including in heading up our vital work to eradicate the scourge of fuel poverty.

“We’re also delighted to bring on two new Board members in Lindsay and Abi. The work of our Board is vital to Changeworks mission of delivering low-carbon living, and their backgrounds and experience will further diversify the perspectives our Board can offer.”

Still in her 20s, Abi also bucks the trend when it comes to charity trustees in the UK – only three per cent of them are under 30, according to The Young Trustee Movement. Her perspective will also help inform Changeworks’ work with young people.

Abi Gardner, Changeworks Board member, said: “Last year I learned that young people make up just three percent of charity trustees, so I decided to do something about it! I’m very excited to have joined the team at Changeworks working towards a low carbon future.”
