Wherever Changeworks runs an energy efficiency project, we also volunteer within the community. This is part of our Community Benefits commitment. Here’s a roundup of our May and June volunteering.
Glenlivet Estate, Glenlivet
24 June
Changeworks staff joined with the Cairngorms National Park Volunteer Rangers to maintain the Tomintoul Primary vegetable beds, improve the Mindfulness Trail path and replace two old benches.

Gilvenbank Community Sports Hub, Glentrothes
10 June
Changeworks staff and volunteers redecorated three toilets and tidied up the overgrown planters and paving. The new bedding flowers will brighten up the hub for summer.

Water of Leith Conservation Trust
9 June
We ran a self-led litter pick between our Edinburgh Office along the Water of Leith to Roseburn.
This is a popular commuting route for our colleagues coming in from Haymarket Station.
Between them, our staff filled three bags of litter, mainly with cigarette butts.
Thanks to Edinburgh Council for providing the litter picking equipment.

Edinburgh Community Book Store
9 June
Changeworks travelled across the city in our company electric vehicle, restocking little libraries with books from the Edinburgh Community Bookstore in Leith.

Collydean Community Centre, Glenrothes
3 June
Changeworks staff and volunteers got to work weeding, trimming, and tidying the lovely garden in Collydean Community Centre.

Communal Garden, Methil, Fife
May
Changeworks staff and volunteers cleaned and greened the garden of the main office for the retirement properties in Methil. They filled 11 bags of litter and green garden waste by litter picking, weeding and trimming overgrown bushes.

Cosy Cabin, Cupar, Fife
May
Changeworks staff and volunteers cleaned and greened the communal garden of the Cosy Cabin in Cupar’s retirement properties. They filled a whole brown bin of green waste, giving the space a good tidy to make it more welcoming for local residents.
