When Lindsay began renovating her house in 2017, she wanted to make her new home as carbon neutral as possible. However, at the time she felt there was a lack of guidance and support for her project.
Lindsay’s recent engagement with the EcoCosi retrofit service provided a second chance to achieve the sustainable home she’s always wanted.
As she explains, working with EcoCosi gave her family the opportunity to “review what we’d done (and) fix or improve what we hadn’t managed to do back then.”
‘A really helpful plan’
During the initial phase, EcoCosi made a thorough survey of Lindsay’s house, then produced a comprehensive plan for making it more energy efficient.
“Getting the plan back with lots of different options was really helpful”, says Lindsay.
For an easy win, the plan recommended switching energy tariff. To support her with this, EcoCosi put Lindsay in touch with the free Green Energy Helpline service. After a discussion with an advisor, she changed her tariff and is now saving £50 a month on her bills.
Trusted installers
Lindsay was pleased that EcoCosi’s recommendations took into account that she wanted to avoid certain kinds of disruption. As she didn’t want to rip up floors or replace radiators, her retrofit coordinator suggested insulating her floors, walls and roof.
Lindsay is going ahead with these upgrades, and EcoCosi is helping her choose installers from their list of accredited and vetted contractors. They’re also making sure she’s accessing all the funding and support available to her.
Lindsay’s journey continues…
Lindsay says: “I would really recommend using EcoCosi. Using the service has really helped me consolidate all the things that I’d been thinking about.”
We’ll check back in with Lindsay as her retrofit project continues.
