Leading social enterprise Changeworks has announced a new Chair of its Board of Directors and a series of Board appointments to support delivery of its 2025–30 strategy, building on the organisation’s impact in delivering affordably warm, healthy and energy efficient homes and supporting households in fuel poverty.
Nicola Walters, an existing member of the Board, will step into the role of Chair following current Chair Del Redvers stepping down at the end of his term later this year, having provided strong leadership during a period of growth. Nicola is Chief Transformation Officer and Senior Director at Deloitte with a strong track record in financial services, and founder of an award-winning, sustainability-focused business.
Four new members are also joining the Board as part of recent transitions, bringing expertise in technology and governance, climate innovation and energy systems, as well as sustainability and the housing sector.
Alex Kantor is a technology leader with over 15 years’ experience building and scaling teams in regulated sectors, including leading delivery, compliance and governance functions in AI, fintech and enterprise environments.
Claire Rampen is a climate technology and innovation specialist working across Europe, the US, and Latin America focused on taking low‑carbon solutions from idea to market, across infrastructure and global partnerships.
Angus Flett is a senior leader in digital infrastructure and energy systems, with experience leading teams at the forefront of the digitisation of the UK energy system and the deployment of in-home energy technologies.
Craig Stirrat is a housing sector leader with over 40 years’ experience in advancing affordable, sustainable homes across local government and housing associations, leading large‑scale projects on energy efficiency, new build and driving organisational growth and strong workplace culture.
The appointments come at a pivotal time for Changeworks as it scales its work to deliver more energy-efficient homes, reducing energy bills and supporting a fair transition to net zero. During its last strategic plan (2022–25), the organisation supported over 215,000 households with energy advice and retrofit. This saved more than 1.2 million tonnes of carbon through services including its joint venture Warmworks and delivery of Home Energy Scotland in the South East and Highlands and Islands, highlighting the growing importance of large-scale, practical interventions that deliver both environmental impact and real improvements in people’s health, comfort and financial wellbeing.
Josiah Lockhart, Chief Executive at Changeworks said:
“Del has played a hugely important role in guiding Changeworks through a period of growth, strengthening our impact and helping position the organisation for the future. We are very grateful for his leadership, commitment and support.
We’re delighted that Nicola will step into the role of Chair. She brings deep knowledge of Changeworks and a strong commitment to our mission, providing continuity as we move into the next phase of our strategy.
Our new Board members will further strengthen the Board, bringing together the expertise needed to support our strategic priorities over the next five years and to deliver in an increasingly complex and evolving landscape.”
These appointments reflect Changeworks’ focus on scaling solutions that cut carbon emissions while also tackling fuel poverty. With one in three in fuel poverty in Scotland, the ongoing energy crisis and the impacts of the climate emergency increasingly being felt, this work has never been more important. Over its 2025–2030 strategic plan, Changeworks will continue to work in partnership across sectors and the UK to scale its services and deliver practical change.
