From fuel poverty and energy saving advice, through to bespoke training for your colleagues, our specialist teams offer a range of services and support to help your social tenants and private residents live without the worry and stress of unaffordable energy bills.
How we can help your tenants and residents
Our team of advisors has a wealth of experience in navigating the ever-changing landscape of the energy industry. This is especially true of consumer rights and policy changes, where we maintain up-to-date knowledge of the sector.
Changeworks offers a dedicated service of delicate, specific advice to empower tenants and residents across your local authority. Letting us take the lead on this can free up valuable time for local authority staff to concentrate on other important aspects of their job.
Additionally, by helping tenants and residents to understand how to heat their homes more efficiently and lower their emissions, you’ll be able to move towards implementing your own retrofit and net zero goals.
Expert advice and advocacy for tenants and residents
With nearly four decades-worth of experience in energy advice and advocacy, we understand the challenges local authorities face when it comes to supporting tenants and residents with energy issues and who are in fuel poverty.
That’s why our expert in-house advisors are on hand to deliver support and and resolution to those who need it the most.

Understanding tenants’ and residents’ needs
To help people improve their situation, it’s crucial to first understand their current circumstances. That’s why our teams work hard to gain insight into the attitudes, behaviours and needs of people across your local authority area. Once these are established, we can help you make more targeted and efficient interventions.
Support for your LHEES
Changeworks has worked with 25 local authorities over the past six years to support them through the different stages of their Local Heat and Energy Efficiency Strategy (LHEES).
With our experts’ knowledge and experience, we’re here to help you move forward with the delivery and implementation of your own LHEES.

Working in your community
Our Low Carbon Communities team works with households at a community level to create the motivation and knowledge for making low-carbon living a reality.
The team builds trust within targeted audiences and enables action at scale. This is key to reaching under-represented groups such as minority ethnic groups, rural communities, and park home owners. These households are often underserved when it comes to support for decarbonising their homes. That’s where sensitive, proactive community engagement comes in.
Staff training and behaviour change
If you’re looking to upskill your colleagues with energy and low-carbon technology advice, we will work with you to understand the needs of your organisation and staff. From there we can deliver bespoke training based on your specific needs, or you can choose from our range of pre-defined training topics, such as energy meters, tariffs, and fuel poverty awareness.
We have experience of delivering training to a wide range of audiences on a variety of subjects.

Low Carbon Living sessions
We deliver FREE sessions for Scottish employers to support colleagues with saving energy in their own homes.
To make Scotland’s homes more energy efficient, we’re offering Scottish local authorities the chance to help their staff access specialist advice and support on energy use, managing energy debt, and switching to sustainable technologies at home.
