Our Low Carbon Communities team helps households within local communities to cut their energy costs and lower their carbon footprint.
We engage directly with groups to deliver free energy advice and education sessions. We also refer tenants to vital advice and financial support services.
Our team tailor energy support programmes for people with different needs, from households in fuel poverty to self-funding home improvers.
How we can help in your community
Our Low Carbon Communities team works with households at a community level. They build the motivation and knowledge to make low-carbon living a reality.
The team earns trust through sensitive, proactive community engagement. This is key to reaching minority ethnic groups, rural communities, park home owners, and other under-served households.

Access to existing support and services
Our expert team of staff and volunteers are on hand to deliver free energy advice and education sessions for your community event, both in person and online. Whether it’s advice on bills, staying affordably warm at home, or access to funding, our team is here to help.
We also encourage community groups to refer households to our Affordable Warmth Service team via our online portal. Our trained advisors offer free, confidential and impartial energy and billing advice and advocacy.
Co-creating support and services
We’re committed to working with you and your community to offer the best kind of support. We actively listen to what you need so that we can engage in a tailored and effective way. We’re keen to understand and align with your ways of working to ensure a positive impact.
We’ll be on the ground to help you and your community navigate the range of available support. Our team also offers bespoke training on different energy-related topics, from billing to energy saving tips around the home.

Working with volunteers
Our dedicated volunteers belong to the communities we work with. As trusted local voices, they help our service teams reach under-represented communities and understand what best suits their needs.
We are proud to hold the Investing in Volunteers accreditation and our programme consistently receives great feedback. We offer thorough, interactive training to help our volunteers gain the knowledge and skills they need to best serve their communities.
