What is the Social Housing Net Zero Heat Fund?
The SHNZHF is a Scottish Government initiative that helps fund the retrofit of existing social housing. Under the scheme, organisations can apply for funding for either:
- Clean Heating Systems – where successful applicants receive up to 60% of costs for the zero direct emissions heating elements of the project
- Fabric First energy efficiency only projects – which covers up to 50% of project costs for successful applicants.
Applications for the fund normally open in the Spring of each year. Applications for the 2025 fund are currently closed.
