Managing collective purchasing energy schemes

Delivering Home Energy Scotland services in South East Scotland and Highlands and Islands makes us well placed to support collective purchasing schemes.

We led Scotland’s participation in the UK pilot scheme, Cheaper Energy Together, in 2013. Under the project heading Scots Together, we invited householders across Scotland to register their interest on a dedicated website or by calling a freephone number to speak to a trained advisor. We also engaged directly with householders in five areas covered by our partner organisations: City of Edinburgh Council, Fife Council, Midlothian Council, Scottish Borders Council, East Lothian Council and Kingdom Housing Association.

Almost 4,500 householders registered to compare costs with their current energy tariff and over 520 switched, securing total estimated savings of more than £77,000.
