The Wee Spoke Hub is a bike shop and workshop space run by SHRUB Coop.

  • They sell second-hand and brand new bike parts. The Wee Spoke Hub aims to help make cycling an accessible mode of transport for everyday use, therefore, they operate a Tiered Pricing System. See their website for more details.
  • They have trained mechanics who can fix your bike.
  • They take donations of bikes to repair and sell.
  • They run DIY bike repair sessions where you can learn to fix your bike yourself.

The Bike Station is Edinburgh's bicycle recycling and cycling promotion charity. They repair unwanted bikes and put them back on the road, provide bike maintenance training, and refurbish bikes to promote cycling as a healthy and sustainable means of transport across Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Bikes can be taken to the Reuse Cabins in Edinburgh. See Community Recycling Centres Edinburgh.


Brake the Cycle take old and unwanted bikes and renovate them. The bikes are then given away to community organisations (and other orgs), youth groups and children.
The Brake the Cycle team will collect your bike for free and take it to one of their workshops.

You can apply via the website for a free bike for yourself, someone in need or a club.

If you live in East Lothian you can take your old bike to the Community Recycling Centres at Kinwegar or North Berwick and The Bike Station will collect from there. See Community Recycling Centres East Lothian.
