Changeworks Recycling has scooped the Scottish Excellence in Resource Management (Small Organisation) award at the Zero Waste Scotland Scottish Resources Awards 2013.

The award showcases excellence in any aspect of sustainable resource management and recognises achievements across the full spectrum of the recycling and resources sector.

It is awarded to organisations operating in Scotland, large or small, from the public, private or community sectors who are achieving significant results in sustainable resource management.

This award is very much about going beyond a basic level of environmental appreciation and statutory action. Innovation, passion for a greener Scotland, focus on sustainable economic growth and protection of our resources are at the heart of what we do at Changeworks.

Ken McLean, Changeworks Recycling General Manager said: “It’s really encouraging for our staff that all the innovation and hard work that goes on behind the scenes is recognised by awards and nominations. We hope it’s also encouraging for our clients. Our business doesn’t exist without them and they are the real beneficiaries - reducing waste, carbon and costs.”

We are also delighted to confirm that Changeworks Recycling is one of the finalists in the UK Social Enterprise Awards 2013 in the Environmental category. The winner will be announced in London on 27 November 2013.
