We’re celebrating one year of Changeworks becoming a consortium member of Local Energy Scotland, which delivers the Scottish Government funded Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES).
The consortium, made up of the Energy Saving Trust (EST), Changeworks, The Energy Agency, SCARF and The Wise Group and established on 1 August 2013, administers and manages the CARES scheme, with support from Ricardo-AEA.
The CARES scheme helps community groups, rural businesses and land managers, become more involved in community renewables, whether it’s a fully community owned scheme or a benefit from a large-scale commercial project.
Chris Morris, Local Energy Scotland Project Manager said, “It’s been an exciting first year and the team at Local Energy Scotland are doing a great job to support communities and rural businesses to make a real difference! We look forward to continuing to deliver the Scottish Governments CARES scheme and helping more communities benefit from renewable energy.”
