Our organisation
Changeworks has over 200 staff working across Scotland. The Senior Management Team manages Changeworks' strategic development and oversees the organisation’s operational activities. The Senior Management team is lead by Teresa Bray, Chief Executive of Changeworks, and works closely with the Changeworks' Board.

Teresa Bray, Chief Executive Teresa has been the Chief Executive of Changeworks since February 2008. A qualified accountant by trade, she has worked in the voluntary sector for over 25 years. Her early career was based in London working in social housing, culminating as Finance Director for Poplar HARCA in the East End of London. She moved back to Scotland in 2001 to take up the role of Director of Finance at the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO). She has always had a keen interest in both environmental and social issues, and greatly enjoys hill walking at weekends. |

Judith Crichton, Finance Director Judith joined Changeworks in the new position of Finance DIrector at the end of 2010 . She is a member of the Chartered Association of Management Accounts with many years experience working in private and public sector organisations. Over the last 10 years she has kept a primary focus on charities having worked for the RNIB, Citizens Advice Scotland, SCVO and now Changeworks. |

Liz Partington, Director of Operations Liz has worked at Changeworks since 2001. Starting as the Information and Education Manager, she quickly went on to manage the LEEP Recycling team, then became Head of Waste Prevention. Taking on the remit of energy as well as waste in 2007, she managed the establishment of the Energy Saving Scotland advice centre in the South East. In 2009 she became Head of Organisational Development with responsibilities for HR, facilities, marketing and communications, business development and management and staff support. Liz's varied background includes an MSc in Development and Environment from the London School of Economics, a two-year period working and travelling in Asia, and a diverse role as a waste projects and education manager at Essex County Council. |

Sam Mills, Head of Projects Sam completed an Msc in Environmental Management and started her career as an Environmental Health Officer for a number of local authorities in England and Scotland. Following a period of working as an environmental co-ordinator for a construction company, she joined Changeworks (then LEEP) over 8 years ago as a project manager. Sam went on to manage the Real Nappy Support Fund Management team, then progressed to the role of Sustainable Energy Services Manager, responsible for working in partnership with local authorities, the NHS and various community groups. In 2009 she became Head of Energy moving to Head of Projects in 2011. |

Chris Morris, Centre Manager, Energy Saving Scotland advice centre South East After completing a degree in Environmental Management and Technology and working in various voluntary sector roles, Chris moved to Scotland in 1998 and began working for Changeworks (then LEEP). In 2002 Chris moved to the Energy Saving Trust to work on an energy efficiency project and policy. From 2006 he managed the Energy Saving Trust's renewables programmes in Scotland, which included the household and community grant programmes and a pilot testing microgeneration heating systems as a tool to tackle fuel poverty. In 2008 Chris returned to Changeworks where he now manages the Energy Saving Scotland advice centre in South East Scotland. |

Tom Murdoch-Kenny, Director of Commercial Operations After graduating in
Mechanical Engineering in 1980, Tom initially worked as design engineer before
moving into the nascent Computer Aided Design market with Ferranti Infographics.
Initially working in customer support and training he quickly moved into Sales
and Marketing an area of expertise which he developed further with a product
design consultancy. In the mid 90s he had a successful spell as Chief Executive
of an international membership association in the engineering analysis field,
significantly increasing the scale and scope of the organisation. Following a
short spell in academia, in a virtual reality research unit at Glasgow School of
Art, he joined Changeworks in 2005. Initially responsible for the development of
Changeworks Recycling he has more recently been instrumental in delivering
Changeworks’ contribution to the Home Insulation Scheme which has visited over
130,000 households across

Peter Rickard, Centre Manager, Energy Saving Scotland advice centre Highlands and Islands Peter has been in voluntary sector management roles for around 25
years, after
starting his working career in the private sector and graduating from Nottingham
University. Prior to joining Changeworks and relocating to the Highlands in November
2008 to manage the Energy Saving Scotland advice centre, for over 10 years Peter
was Regional Manager for the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux in
the North East of England and Yorkshire and the Humber.

Ian Smith, Head of Consultancy Before working at Changeworks, Ian previously enjoyed careers in sales for the bioscience industry and as a secondary school science teacher. Since heading up the Waste Prevention Team at Changeworks, he has integrated current best practice into new and existing innovative projects, with a strong focus on behaviour change and public engagement. Ian has also redeveloped how Changeworks uses considerable staff experience and expertise in education and training to develop new courses and opportunities for customers. |
Our Board
The Board is made up of 8 to 11 directors with a range of business, voluntary sector and government experience. Two directors must always represent the City of Edinburgh Council and Friends of the Earth Scotland (as two of the founding members of Changeworks).
