The Zero Waste Scotland Volunteer Project
The Changeworks Zero Waste Scotland Volunteer Project (formerly known as the Master Composter Project) has recruited and trained volunteers from across Edinburgh and the Lothians who can give waste prevention advice within their local communities.
What can Zero Waste Scotland Volunteers do for you?
We can attend events and deliver talks and workshops to community groups giving information and advice on the following Zero Waste Scotland waste prevention campaigns:
We can also address your composting queries and offer a free home visit service to give advice on how to get the most out of your compost bin.
Would you like to volunteer with us?
Zero Waste Scotland Volunteers are trained during two fun, practical and informative training sessions (6hrs total) on how to deliver information on the four Zero Waste Scotland campaigns mentioned above.
After your training you are encouraged to promote the waste prevention messages within your community by attending events, delivering talks and workshops and doing home visits to your neighbours' compost bins. Volunteering is flexible and you can choose the amount of time you are able to commit to the project.
To find out more about the role of the volunteers and the types of things they get involved with, listen to the project coordinator, the volunteers and the public talking about what we do:
