feasibility studies and PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

Do you need to find technical solutions to make energy  efficiency a reality for your community or building stock?

A feasibility study will help you:

  • Gain solid evidence on tackling energy improvements in a particular situation

  • Determine how best to turn theory and policy into practice

  • Determine the real-life implications, pros and cons of different improvements

  • Tackle the complex issues relating to hard-to-treat buildings

  • Break new ground and trial innovative approaches

About our feasibility studies and project development services

We can conduct energy efficiency and renewable energy studies for most building types but particularly specialise in hard-to-treat housing such as listed buildings and tenements. What we can do:

  • Feasibility studies that look at buildings, occupants and budgets
  • Assess the impact of logistics, costs, savings, planning permission and other practical issues
  • Model different scenarios, and provide a report on the realities of each technology and their suitability to each situation
  • Assess the feasibility of an improvement, factoring in household behaviour and lifestyles
  • Carry out, assess and monitor the effectiveness of improvements
  • Disseminate the findings through reports, guides and events

Why use Changeworks?

  • Our extensive experience of researching and carrying out technical pilot projects (see case studies below)
  • Our 20 years experience of working with individuals and organisations to support energy efficient behaviours
  • We try out the ideas that break new ground, whether that's solar panels on a tenement roof in a World Heritage Site, or completely retro-fitting a block of social housing
  • Several of our pilot projects have gone on to become mainstreamed and used as best practice across the UK.We've also presented our findings at several international conferences such as Energy Management in Cultural Heritage, Dubrovnik 2011, and Energy Efficiency and Sustainability in Traditional Buildings, Edinburgh 2010.
