Changeworks' Environmental Policy

The protection of the environment and the development of sustainable business practices is at the heart of Changeworks’ business ethos. Sustainable development and innovative environmental solutions are the central focus of everything Changeworks does.

In most cases operating in a more sustainable way is at least as convenient as 'normal' practices and often it brings other benefits such as cost savings or health benefits. Changeworks will always strive for the environmentally sustainable option.

Changeworks is an environmental charity and we recognise that our energy advice and recycling operations interact with the environment. We have a responsibility to reduce our impact on the planet and to support others in this goal.

Changeworks is committed to the prevention of pollution and will comply with all present and future legislation and other requirements relevant to our operations.

In achieving these goals, Changeworks will:

• Encourage all staff to consider the environmental impact of their work routinely and to seek a better environmental option whenever practicable
• Encourage all staff to consider the environmental impact of their travel to work, and provide assistance and support to make use of better environmental options whenever practicable
• Provide appropriate training to all staff to enable them to implement this environmental policy
• Seek to reduce consumption of resources in our operations, and continue to promote the reuse and recycling of products wherever possible
• Promote environmental awareness to suppliers and contractors and within the  local community
• Maintain an effective Environmental Management System certified to the international standard ISO 14001
• Establish objectives and targets and regularly review them to support continual improvements in our organisation.
