Zero Waste Scotland Volunteers

We are currently looking for volunteers in the Edinburgh and Lothians area.

Volunteers will be trained on how to deliver information on the Zero Waste Scotland campaignsso that they can promote the waste prevention messages within their community by attending events, delivering talks and workshops and doing home visits to neighbours' compost bins.

Real Nappy Project Volunteers

The Real Nappy Project is recruiting volunteers to join our 30+ strong team across the Lothians. We need the expertise of real nappy parents to keep us informed of the best strategies for your area. We also benefit from having a wide range of experience from different kinds of people using different kinds of nappies, sharing tips and stories.

Being part of our team means the opportunity to meet like minded parents, share your knowledge, encourage and support new parents, learn new skills and help shape The Real Nappy Project with your knowledge and ideas. Volunteers are vital to the strength of this project and help in a variety of ways:

  • Put up posters and distribute leaflets in local areas
  • Help at information stands at events such as ‘Parents Like Us’ and NCT Sales
  • ‘Buddy’ new users – this could be by telephone or meeting up in a cafe
  • Provide nappy demos for groups of parents to be / new parents
  • Provide the project with insight and feedback to develop new projects

Business Recycling Services – Driver Operative

Changeworks Recycling delivers innovative and sustainable recycling services for businesses. We are always interested in hearing from people who would be interested in roles should they come up. Please send a CV to us and we will review it during our next recruitment drive.

Job description:

Within this role you will ensure that our clients’ recycling collections are completed to a high professional standard, safely and on time.

To join us as a driver operative you will be the sort of person who enjoys working to tight deadlines with other people as well as on your own. As the face of Changeworks Recycling you will demonstrate excellent commitment to customer service, and have a flexible, friendly and enthusiastic attitude.

As part of the role you will be expected to lift and carry recycling bags of up to 15kgs and push trolleys of up to 250kgs. Working with PDA technology you will carry out around 50 collections a day, and will need a good geographical knowledge and the ability to organise your workload effectively.

You will need a Category C, C+E or full non LGV driving licence.

The basic hours of work are 40hrs, however due to the nature of the position we require a flexible approach to these hours.
