Scotland's charity shops are an essential part of our communities. Not only do they play a vital role in waste prevention, but they also raise millions of pounds for good causes each year, as well as providing a huge range of volunteering opportunities.

    Environment
45,000 tonnes of goods donated every year

    Communities
    Over 11,400 volunteer placements

    Social economy
More than £9 million raised every year

Changeworks developed the Generous Scotland Programme to help charities access the thousands of tonnes of reusable goods still going to landfill, and to help them to manage the waste from unsuitable donations.

Generous Scotland is all about working in partnership. Our role is to support charity shops by bringing together the people and organisations that can make a difference.

"I'm so happy we got involved with Changeworks. The best thing so far is The Edinburgh Charity Map. Since we've been on it more people have found us and donations have greatly improved."
